Saying Farewell to Fair Weather

The weather in Los Angeles is changing. It’s noticeably chilly. There’s a film on the cars when we wake up. I’m starting to wear jackets and make curries on the regular.

I’d been waiting to wear this vintage Betsey Johnson dress because it’s velvet and a little heavy–a selection more suited to colder weather. I love Betsey, but for the past year, I’ve been more drawn to her older pieces–things that are a little less princess-y than her party dresses. When I found this at Crossroads in Santa Monica, I nearly squealed when I saw that it was both my size, and half off.

I’ve been eyeballing this wall on Melrose for-ev-er, waiting for the right outfit to use with it. Betsey fit the bill! So much bright pink makes me so happy. It’s a consideration for my next hair color.

I’ve been taking a break from this jacket, but pulled it out this morning. I’d forgotten how much people comment on it in passing–well, as I leave. Staying positive ain’t always easy, and it’s good to have a reminder.
