Part III in our series: Spring hopes Eternal:
I think I mentioned this before, but this Spring hopes Eternal shoot was the first I formally styled and art directed on. Styling was loads of fun. I started out with the custom made headbands and collar (more on those in a seperate post!) and built the outfits around them.
This outfit was definitely the most lighthearted of the bunch! Ali is sporting my mother’s dress from when she was 14– I loved the eyelet bell 3/4 sleeves and the matching hem. I remember Mom saying that it was one of her first dresses from a department store. Before that, all of her clothing was hand sewn. And that belt…oh, that belt! I found it ages ago at a thrift store, and even though it didn’t fit me at my smallest weight, I kept it around. It is glorious! I wish I had a tiny Gloria in my life to give it a home.
All of the shoes in this shoot were found at vintage stores. I jazzed them up; adding glitter and painting them…basically going nuts! Now, I wanna do this with all of my shoes. These orange booties could work on a cosmic elf!
