Spring hopes Eternal: Part IV

Our final look in the Spring hopes Eternal series!

I am absolutely aghast at how beautifully this came out– it’s really lovely to know that I can sit down, make some headbands, a hat, a collar, and a bow tie, and call each of my friends up to get their unique talents happening to create a solid aesthetic reality. I truly felt like I was working with my Dream Team. While I definitely had concrete ideas about each element, it was their amazing expertise that made the reality twice as brilliant as what was in my head.

I mean, really. Tanya used hand-dyed extensions and got creative with a faux-fringe. So, so chic and fun! And I loved the space-moth look that Danie did. You really can’t go wrong with lilac makeup for early Summer. It kills! It should be mentioned that Ali is not technically a model– although you’d never know it from this shoot! She actually did the makeup for my wedding, and is a family friend of Ben’s. Ali also runs her own style website. The girl radiates magic… but that’s obvious! Alex is my whip-smart, uber-inspirational writer– I hit her last minute with this idea and she hit me right back with her gorgeous words. And Jenn, of course, has been my Girl Friday for years now. She’s a Technical Jaguar (go ahead, Jenn, you can copyright that) and pretty much the only option for a pretty, sassy shoot. Did I mention she did our wedding? Cuz she did. Hard.

Ok. Before you start rolling your eyes at all of this love, let me just say that I am grateful. Supremely, totally, absolutely, grateful. I want people to know that every dream is a reality– and this shoot is a small testament to that. If you have an idea, map everything out, tell your friends, and make it happen. You seriously can do it. xo

  1. Holy moly! I love the idea of blinging out the brim of a fitted hat! Now I have something to do with the Ed Hardy one I was given but never wear… time to girlify.

Also, y’all have amazingly cool looking plants out on the West Coast!
