My Saint would be my grandmother. She left home after 8th grade in order to go to high school and lived at a boarding house in st louis. She also had a job taking care of some kids so she could send money back home to her family. She always told me two things: don’t ever get married, just live with the guy for five years and then get a new one and if it’s a bad day just put on some lipstick and keep going. Neat lady, I miss her every day.

My twin hellster is my bad ass Saint. I’m the outdoors twin and she the rockin city girl. I learned many a lesson from this patron. I realized how awesome being a vegan was for the environment and me from this smart lady. I totally steal her fashion sense and bring it from the big lights of Dallas to the small towns of Northern , Minnesota. Even when our lives are crazy and we haven’t seen each other, in the flesh, in two years, its still like we’ve never be apart. I freakin love my Saint…plus she loves lime crime just as much as me <3

Different Saints have visited me throughout the years, helping me where I needed them most. My current Saint is Lisa-Marie of BodyRock.tv. This woman has a body of steel and willpower to match. She has the cleanest diet, most dedicated workout ethic and the biggest heart. She honestly wants to help people and she makes exercise videos and offers them to the world for FREE. She is constantly posting motivating photos and personal encouragement on her Facebook page and quite often she really hits the mark with me. My health/body image is something I’ve always struggled with, and thanks to Lisa-Marie, I’m more comfortable in my skin than ever. <3 Plus, she's sexy as hell and doesn't let haters get her down!

I light a candle for St. Freddie Mercury, patron saint of frontmen, mustaches, and powerful rock vocalists. Freddie taught me how to sing, and I’d be nothing without him. St. Freddie gave me the power, inspiration, and fearlessness to shoot air through my vocal chords with the power of several thousand knots, and pull the upper telescopic portion of my microphone stand out of the bottom portion, so I can hold the mic like a scepter. His benevolence lights the path to my life in rock and roll.

Awesome awesome awesome! I love all your St. Antoinette stuff!
I’d have to say my favourite real life saint would have to be my best friend and other half, Sue. She’s my love and light. I’ve known her for about 10 years and she has stuck with me for so long. She helps hold me up and her determination and motivation to go places and get her dreams accomplished has helped to kick me in the ass and get going on that stuff, too.

I would say my saint is my grandmother, who passed away when I was 14. She was the embodiment of strength and courage, and even now I feel as if she is always with me, especially in times of need. Although she had little formal education, she has taught me more about life than anyone I know. When she was 9, she ran away from her house because her parents were extremely abusive. She found a way to fend for herself in a brand new town. For a period, she raised 9 kids all her own by washing others’ clothes, never giving up to give her kids what they need, always pushing her kids to pursue the education she never had the opportunity to receive. I think of her often, and whenever I feel completely overwhelmed by the things life throws at me, I remember all she went through, not once giving up.

My saint is my older brother, who for the past few years has helped me through depression and the hardest parts of growing up. I’ve matured and bonded with him better than anyone, and he knows me the best. I wouldn’t be here without him and I don’t want to imagine otherwise.

In lieu of the traditional response, I’m going to be completely honest and say that the only saint I could say I identify with would be Delirium of the Endless created by Neil Gaiman. I’ve spent more time with her than any other (maybe even more than Dream) and have come to accept her guidance, no matter how unnerving it may be:)

My saint is my “dad”. He has been in my life since I was a baby, but is not my biological father. He has helped to raise me, he has always been there for me, and he definitely has the patience of a saint to deal with me! lol. Although he never had to, he claimed me as his very own daughter and he is the most honorable man I know.

My saint is someone I’ve never met, but often wish I could have. It is OSHO…. he was an Indian mystic, guru, and spiritual teacher that died in 1990.
The reason he is my saint is for his endless ability to love and this specific quote …
‘Drop the idea of becoming someone, because you are already a masterpiece. You cannot be improved. You have only to come to it, to know it, to realize it.’
Those words saved me. I really believe.

My favorite saint would be my mother! She has over come some many trials through out her life. She grew up in a family with 5 kids, her Dad turned into an alcoholic when she was a teenager and they lost contact. She then got pregnant at 18, the dad left her. She met my dad a few short years later. He was fine at first and they had 2 children, myself and younger sister. He got hurt at work and was put on disability and he turned into an alcoholic. He then got abusive towards my mom. She lived in a horrible situation for years. She finally got away after he kicked us out of our home for the 2nd time and she got a minimum wage job. She worked 2 shifts a day to take care of the 3 children she has. My older sister, Grandma and aunt would help with watching us. We didn’t have a vehicle so she walked to get groceries. She finally got a vehicle when I turned 17. Now she has her own home and she is an awesome grandma to my daughter. She definitely is a saint!!

Oh, how I love being able to sing praises about individuals!
My saint is most certainly, my mother. I may not have been taught about fashion or how to apply makeup – but she taught me how to be true and honest to myself and a person that other people wanted to gravitate to. She taught me how to cook, how to garden and listen to others when they have nowhere else to turn. From her constant guidance and support, I’ve been able to barrel through any challenge that life throws at me.
She continues to be saintly by being a mother to two crazy teenage twin boys, by sacrificing her time and keeping up with their endless intake of food.
I just love her.

My saint is my goddaughter, Moriah. She is 7 years old and has a rare disease called NOMIDs. Everday she gets up, gives herself an injection, and does what regular kids do. She’s constantly in pain, but rarely complains. Hospitals, test, blood work all are normal things for her. Despite all of this she always has a smile on her face.

I am my own Saint. I have survived an entire childhood of abuse by neglectful parents. I survived an abusive relationship. I survived my mental illness that tried to literally kill me. I am a proud and loving mother to a beautiful boy. I am a loving and caring fiancee. I have survived and I am strong because of it. So, I am my own Saint.

My favorite saint would have to be my Dad. All throughout my life he’s always gone above and beyond for me and my brother. Don’t get me wrong, my mom has too, but I know that if I’m ever in a real bind my dad will help me out.
I remember, when I first went off to college and my car broke down. I had no money and didn’t know what to do. I called my dad and he told me to open the driver’s side door, and look under the seat. Unbeknownst to me he had placed an envelope with $1,000 in it under my seat for me in case of an emergency. I felt SO relieved and I will never forget that. He’s always done things like that and I know that I can always count on him to save the day if I’m ever in trouble.

My saint is definitely my mother. She passed away 20 years ago this month. Still it feels like yesterday when she died. She was a strong independent woman, a mother of 7 children, she worked hard and loved learning. She would work and go to school full time and still she managed to spend time with each and everyone of us. She taught me to stand up for myself and that you should never stop learning.

My favorite Saint is Nikoletta Skarlatos. I had the pleasure of meeting her at IMATS a few days ago and for a busy MUA she took the time to talk to me, give me advice and encouragement. I’m an atheist, so I don’t believe religious myths actually happened, but dictionary.com allows me some leeway with their definition of “saint”:
“a person of great holiness, virtue, or benevolence.”
My mother is by far the most virtuous person I’ve ever met or experienced. She became pregnant with me at 19, had to drop out of college because she became pregnant with my sister at 21, struggled as a single parent and then managed to extract herself from an abusive marriage. She has struggled with, and overcome, drug addiction and not only got clean, but (after bringing another of my wonderful sisters into the world) finished college in her 40s, became an elementary school teacher, and now owns her own home, again as a single parent. She is my inspiration in so many ways and if I were to pray to anything, I pray to her, my virtuous mother, whose perseverance, fierce love and wisdom have Saved me many times over.

My saint is Buddha! I know I could never exactly meet him, but he looks at the world simply and beautifully and respects all people but more importantly, himself. I feel that perhaps someday, I could be as wise, composed and enlightened as he. I study his teachings often in hopes of achieving this one day. He is an inspiration to me, and all of his dedicated followers are as well. I feel like truing learning and understand what he went through in terms of enlightenment will help me understand and sympathize, truly with all people.

My saint is my best friend, St. Elaine. She’s the older sister that I never had, and the calmness in my life to balance out the turmoil of me. She never is flustered, never gets ruffled, handles all problems with fairness and grace. She finds ways to channel all my rebel without a cause energy into productive activities, and is always a phone call away from saving me, no matter where I am, or what I’ve done. She accepts me and refuses to try to change me, instead only offering sound guidance. She was the one who told me, “Your heart doesn’t bounce. Don’t play with it, and don’t ever play with others’.”

My saint, although thoroughly cliche, is my mother. She has been through so much in the past year, including losing both of her parents within two weeks of each other. Not to mention my brother moving out of the house, which was hard for her, and her youngest, my younger sister, getting engaged in May (before any of the older siblings, I might add!). Her strength through losing her parents and continuing to push on through the events of life set a huge example for me. I want to go through life with that kind of warrior strength to draw on when I need it most. Though she always had me here to cry with, and cry with me she did, she never faltered, and I can never forget that.

My saint is my great grandmother, Carmen Osornio. She was a healer and was a very devout Catholic. She raised my grandfather as a single mother in Mexico. She came to the united states with my grandfather and grandmother in the early 1980′s.
She would give me a dollar bill for every song I would sing or dance I would perform for her, and always had a hot meal for me and my cousins.
She died at the age of 83. I <3 her. My saint Carmen. I hope to be just as good a great grandmother if I'm lucky.

My Saint is my late friend Aleister. He passed away last year of cancer. He taught me its okay to be myself to achieve my goals. HE was my cheerleader when I went back to college. When I was down he always encourage to see the better side of things. He never said a bad word about anybody cause he always said you never know what they are going through or what their story is. He loved making music and was even writing and playing guitar till the end. Aleister will always be missed and I am glad I have gotten to know him and have him in my life.

My Saint was my Grandma. She passed when I was 10. But I remember every moment I spent with her like it was yesterday. She was the sweetest person ever. Very forgiving and very patient. She made amazing Italian dinners every night. Hopefully I’ll be able to cook like she did one day
I would give anything to have her here with me for just one more day. I know she’d be so happy at the lady I’ve become
She was just awesome. I miss her everyday. =]

My twin sister, who was born with several medical issues. She inspires me to live everyday, thankful for what I have. Though she has never walked or talked in her life, and is currently going through treatment for leukemia, she never fails to have a smile on her face everyday. Everyone who meets her falls in love with her. She’s had three open heart surgeries and endured a lot of physical pain through her 18 years of life, but she keeps pushing on. My mother was told she would die after 24 hours, and even asked her about aborting baby b, because it could cause problems for baby a, me. As she continues to fight, I know for a fact that she is the strongest person I will ever meet.

My saint is my son who passed away shortly after he was born. I live my life in honor of him in the hopes that if there is something after this life, I can see him again and be proud of my accomplishments. I have made an commitment to myself to take better care of myself, both physically and mentally.
To that commitment, in the past 7 years I’ve lost over 200 pounds, sought help for some of my mental demons and acquired the skills in order to better deal with them versus shutting myself in my room. I’ve also started on a new road of discovery, learning how to use make up (I’ve never really used it before) as well as how to dress that makes empowers me and helps me portray the confidence and pride I am building.

My saint would be my grams! She so blessed and has the best luck I thinks just cause she’s such a great person she devotees herself to get family community and anyone needing help she even gives away 50% of everything she ever won away to charity and it’s always come back double! My saint is my mother, not just the fact that she gave me life (which in times of despair I resented) but for her strength and willpower. Her life was a terrible tragedy but she was always so optimistic, celebrating every miniscule holiday or anytime someone ordered pizza she would turn it into a celebration. My mother gave birth to nine children and I’m glad to be one of them even if it wasn’t the most happy of childhoods she tried her hardest even in the controlling grips of my father.
She taught me about fashion an about dressing the way I wanted to, she sometimes gets all dressed up with platform boots and leopard print coat to just go to the grocery store.
My saint is a bleach blonde, inspired Marilyn Monroe hairstyle and light blue eyes…
My saint is a lime crime wearing (Cosmopop lipstick) 57 year old…

You know, when I think of saints, I’d say my favorite is Joan of Arc. She’s an actual Roman Catholic Saint, yes, but she also paved the way for women’s rights, and European women fighters. While various Celtic and Pict women were already accepted as very capable (in their respective cultures), most Europeans (including her own father) assumed Joan to be prostituting herself to the army, as that’s what women who rode off with a bunch of men usually did! Instead, she was a fantastic female fighter who lead an entire army and refused to die in battle until she was burned at the stake at 19. She was later deemed innocent by Pope Callixtus III and martyrd. So she’s definitely in my top; her and Mary Magdalene. Both women were wronged highly by men and did not let it stop them.
However, I’ve read some of the comments, and though he hasn’t been canonized, Freddie Mercury is definitely agreed!

My saint is my great aunt, Donna. She had only met me a handful of times when I was just a baby, and then she had moved to California. Many years later, I had no recollection of her at all, we barely knew each other. I moved to California this past December and learned that she lives rather close. Since then we have spent many days together, and bonded over our mutual feelings of being the black sheep of the family. She has helped me out immensely, and it is a comfort knowing that she is nearby, and here for me, when I am thousands of miles away from the rest of my family. She has been through so much, and is so kind and generous towards everyone.

My mother is my rock and a saint. She has become my best friend over the years. She’s strong minded and willed, a lover, a fighter, a bread winner for our family of 5 when my father was out of work; she’s my confidant; a huge supporter of her three daughters financially, emotionally, and mentally. She hardly ever cries–her strength is both innate and learned through the trials of her own life. Strong and yet soft, welcoming, inviting; She is a warrior, and I am so blessed to call her MY mother. I thank God for her every day.

When it comes to saints my favorite would be my brother William aka Billy. He taught me everything I know. When it comes to tying my shoes, how to write my name, or how to draw he was my teacher. My brother Billy was also my best friend. Every person who knew him or talked to him left with a smile on their face. Whenever someone was having a bad day or needed help he was there. You didn’t even have to ask! He loved his family and everyone around him. He was that beam on sunlight poking through the clouds on a dark rainy day that gave you hope. Even in his short 18 years of life he touched and changed a lot of people’s lives. He was a great son, amazing brother, caring best friend, and a loving Saint.

Right now my Saint is Lena Dunham. She’s the brains behind Girls, which feels like an adult version of My-So-Called-Life and is also an amazing writer, movie maker and actress. And she was brave enough to get naked on her own show. In a media world saturated with ideal body types it was inspiring to see someone revealing her small breasts, luscious belly and awkward tattoos. I ‘m not even sure who to compare her with.

My Saint is my high school English teacher, Mrs. McMillion. She was the first teacher to give me faith in my writing. She’d say, “I don’t know what it means, but it’s good.” She gave me the confidence to continue putting words together in interesting ways.
Thank you, Mrs. McMillion!

My absolute most favorite saint is my younger sister. She’s a bright ball of crazy fun and she inspires me every day to make everything count and strive to be present in everything I do. There is no such thing as disconnect with her which I am relearning as she recently moved back to California, and with her help I become a better person every day.

St. Jenny S. is her name someone i would call the most kind hearted person I know. We meet in church when my daughter started going to a girls club there. She is running a non-profit oranization girls club there. Ages from 4-17 and is in charge of 5 Classrooms. It takes alot of time and effort to help these girls meet every Wed. night but she makes it happen. She is only 24 years old and organizes funraising for these girls, sleepovers, camping and so much more. She enspires me to be all that i can be, I know how stressing it can be to be in charge of girls these ages but she shines up everyones day with her great attitude and generouse self. I’m 30 years old and would be lucky to be twice the women she is. Although we do have the same first name : )
THANK YOU MISS JENNY FOR BEING YOU

There are so many Saint’s in my life. One to mention on this occasion is my Mother. She has always sacrificed everything she has for her children and never asking for anything in return, she is a true Saint.

The Saint in my life is my Mom. She has always been there for me. But recently she went through a major surgery during last Christmas. Now I’m the one of is there for her. Even though it was one of the hardest things that this family went through but we stuck together. Now my Mom is doing better then ever and though she does hurt but she is the Saint of this family. I will always love my Mom because she is a saint and my Best Friend. Now I shall go give my Mommy a hug~!

My saint is the writer Kurt Vonnegut. Through the sheer humanity of his fiction and the humor, humility, optimism, and advice in his memoirs he has lifted my spirits and guided me more times than I can count.
